Water / Foam Mobile Type Fire Extinguisher

Water Mobile Type Fire Extinguisher :

A water mobile type fire extinguisher is designed to extinguish Class A fires, which involve common flammables such as wood, paper, fabric and plastics. It typically contains pressurized water and when discharged, it sprays a stream of water to cool down the fire, remove heat and extinguish the flames. Water fire extinguishers are not suitable for fires involving flammable liquids, electrical equipment or metal fires.

Foam Mobile Type Fire Extinguisher :

A foam mobile type fire extinguisher is designed to tackle Class A and Class B fires. It is more versatile than a water fire extinguisher. It contains a foam forming solution that, when discharged, creates a layer of foam over the fire. The foam acts as a barrier that cuts off the oxygen supply to the fire, thereby suppressing it.

Foam fire extinguishers are effective on fire related to solid flammables and fire related to flammable liquids like oil, gasoline. However, these are not suitable for electrical fires or metal fires.

These mobile type fire extinguishers are often mounted on wheels or placed in a portable cart for easy transportation and use in different locations. It is essential to select the appropriate fire extinguisher type based on the specific fire risks and hazards prevalent in a given area. Making use of any wrong type of extinguisher can be ineffective or even dangerous.
